Mirante House
— (ongoing construction)
Memória do projeto
The house is set on a privileged hillside site in one of the few sloping areas near Lake Paranoá, in Brasília. The lot itself rises by more than eight meters, making it possible to organize the residence across three levels, with the lowest floor partially embedded into the terrain. This strategy allows the main living spaces to function as a belvedere overlooking the landscape, while the service areas remain discreetly positioned behind an earth embankment that follows the site's natural topography.
The program is distributed across three levels. The lower floor accommodates the functional areas, including the garage, gym, technical rooms, and a self-contained guest apartment. The intermediate level houses the private quarters, with four bedroom suites, a TV room, and the laundry area. The upper floor is dedicated to the social spaces, bringing together the home offices, living room, and kitchen, all opening onto a generous terrace bordered by a 14-meter-long elevated swimming pool.
The architecture is defined by its exposed concrete structure, organized on a 3.6-meter structural grid in both plan and elevation. The subdivision of this module establishes the proportions of the interior spaces, determines the dimensions of the structural elements, and guides the formwork pattern of the exposed concrete.
